Yesterday, I heard mother talking about the war again. It seems like that’s the only topic to talk about these days. It has been so hard having to hear her crying every night, but know it’s getting a lot worse. The Germans have a new strategy they are using. It’s called the Rudeltaklk. In English it means the Wolf pack. According to the eavesdropping I had done yesterday, it means the German U-boat have been attacking in groups instead of just independently. A man named Karl Donitz initiated this strategy after France had fallen. Before France fell, the German Wolf Packs were tried, but failed. There were insufficient amounts of ships for it to be successful.Apparently the idea was starting to be thought of back during World War I after my country, Great Britain, had defeated their U-Boats. One boat would give the signal for all of them to attack. So far the attacks have been devastating to everyone involved. The Wolf Packs were initiated to defeat Britain’s Convoy system. I hope my father can come home soon because it’s getting harder and harder to hear everything that’s happening and having him not be here.
